A parent who has parental responsibility for his child may appoint another individual to be the child's guardian in the event of his death before the child reaches 18 years old.
A guardian can only be appointed by someone with parental responsibility, a guardian or the Courts. This can be done in a will or other document.
Dorothy House Children and Young People Service can help with this process for those connected to Dorothy House.
