Young Cancer Care

Named 'Young Cancer Care' the website was commissioned by the National Cancer Action Team to ensure all cancer patients aged 19-24 years are offered informed choice between treatment in one of 13 Principal Treatment Centres in England, (providing age appropriate cancer services) and an adult cancer unit.

In addition to providing information on choice of place of treatment, the website will also give young people access to the following:

• an introductory film explaining the choices available and guiding young people through what the website offers.
• a range of short films from young people in different circumstances, sharing their experiences of their place of cancer care.
• an interactive tool which young people can use to help them decide what's really important when thinking about their choices.
• a search function which links to information provided by hospitals.
• general information about cancer and the team young people are likely to meet.
• a film and images of the young people who have helped to develop the site.

Dorothy House only provides specialist palliative care services to those over the age of 18 years.
