Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy

The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team work with Dorothy House patients and carers providing ways to help patients maintain and improve independence. The physiotherapists help to manage symptoms associated with fatigue, breathlessness and pain. They often use specific tools (such as acupuncture/acupressure and our Breathlessness Management Toolbox) to help with particular problems.

The team individuals work in the In-Patient Unit, the Day Patient Unit, in our out-patient wing and in patients’ homes.

They also lead Palliative Rehabilitation groups both at Dorothy House and at our outreach centres in Chippenham and Midsomer Norton.

The team works in partnership with community based physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other professional groups to provide a seamless service for patients.
