Walk to Remember

A sponsored walk to raise money in memory of someone special
Sunday 25 April 2010, 11:00am, Southwick Country Park, Trowbridge
The first Dorothy House Walk To Remember will take place on Sunday 25 April 2010 at Southwick Country Park (situated on the edge of Trowbridge on the A361). The country park is mainly grassland with a series of paths including a gravelled circular path providing suitable access for wheelchair users.
Our walk will be two laps of the gravelled path (approximately 2 miles) and is suitable for all ages, abilities, wheelchair users and dogs. Walkers can start at any time between 11:00am and 12:00 noon.
The park is a popular place for walking and also provides good opportunities for bird watching. The network of hedges, scrub and ditches offers habitat for a wide variety of wildlife: woodpeckers, buzzards, water voles, rabbits and the occasional deer.
Light refreshments can be purchased from The Squirrels Tea-room at the Hope Nature Centre, situated within the park. The animal park within the Hope Nature Centre is an added attraction for families as it features animals such as goats, alpacas, horses, rabbits and birds.
