In-Patient Unit Hosts

Help to ensure that patients on the In-patient Unit are well-fed and that visitors are looked after.     



Food and drink are very important to making a patient’s time at Dorothy House as comfortable as possible.  IPU Hosts support nursing and kitchen staff at lunch times and supper times.  They liaise directly with the patient about their menu choices, serve food and collect feedback.  They also serve refreshments to patients and carers.    

•    Minimum commitment is one shift per fortnight
•    Shifts 10.30 – 14.00 (lunch) or 17.00 – 20.00 (supper)
•    Applications are welcomed from all sections of the community
•    Travel expenses will be paid
•    Full training will be given
•    Regular supervision and support will be provided
