Bereavement

The Bereavement Service is here for all bereaved families and carers of Dorothy House patients.  They also occasionally support those who live in our catchment area but whose loved one has died at another location. The Bereavement service offers emotional and psychological support to adjust to life without the person who has died.

The team write to each family about 6-8 weeks after a bereavement. They can provide helpful information, support or even counselling.  They also provide, with the chaplaincy team, a series of Remembrance Services six times a year. Families and carers are invited to attend about 1 year after their bereavement.
